The PreSonus Ceres C4.5BT are designed for recreational listening of music, movies, video games and other wired and wireless Bluetooth sources such as smartphones and tablets with the push of a dedicated button. They utilize the same sound reproduction technology as that used for recording studio tracking, mixing, and mastering.
Each monitor features a 4.5" Kevlar woofer for bass/midrange with a rear-firing round bass-reflex port and a 1" silk dome tweeter for treble powered by a 25W class AB amplifier per side. When not in use the speakers can go into Energy Conservation mode and use so little energy that they meet the European ErP directive. A pair of bare wire audio connectors and the included speaker wire allow for the active left speaker to power the passive right speaker.
For wired inputs, the back of the speakers accept balanced 1/4" TRS and unbalanced RCA inputs. The front panel features a volume control and an 1/8" stereo auxiliary input for use with mobile audio devices such as MP3 players. An 1/8" stereo headphone output allows for connection of your favorite headphones. For additional low frequency sound reinforcement, a rear panel 1/4" sub output allows for connection to a separate powered subwoofer.
The back panel of the speakers also feature acoustic adjustment controls for fine tuning the speakers to your listening room. The controls include ±6 dB gain for the midrange above 100 Hz and ±6 dB for the high frequency output above 10,000 Hz. The speakers also feature professional grade protection circuits for reliable operation in a range of applications.
